More Than 70 Shortlisted for Government External Education Interviews

Mbabane, Eswatini — Government has called more than 70 shortlisted applicants for interviews as part of the 2025 scholarship funding process for studies at prioritised universities in South Africa and Namibia.

In a notice issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the interviews are scheduled to take place from 18 to 23 December 2025, starting at 9:00am, at the Ministry’s Conference Room.

According to the interview schedules released by the ministry, the shortlisted candidates are spread across several institutions, including the University of Cape Town, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, Tshwane University of Technology, and the University of Namibia.

The largest number of shortlisted applicants are allocated to interviews linked to South African institutions, reflecting continued demand for tertiary education opportunities in the region. A smaller group of candidates has been shortlisted for programmes in Namibia.

The ministry emphasised that interviews are mandatory and form a critical part of the scholarship assessment and verification process. Applicants are required to attend on their allocated dates and present original documents and copies, including admission letters, academic certificates, national identity cards, birth certificates, and parents’ birth certificates.

Officials said the number of shortlisted candidates highlights government’s ongoing investment in human capital development, particularly in priority fields aligned with national development goals.

Applicants were urged to adhere strictly to interview dates and times, as failure to attend or present the required documentation may result in disqualification from the funding process.
