Minister Expresses Optimism About the Future of Government In Your Hand App

Mbabane, Eswatini — The Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, Savannah Maziya, has expressed optimism about the future impact of the Government In Your Hand (GIYH) application, saying the platform is poised to further transform how citizens access public services.

In comments shared this week, Maziya reflected on the app’s official launch earlier this year, noting that GIYH has already laid a strong foundation for bringing government services closer to emaSwati. She described the platform as a tool that saves time and costs while reducing long-standing barriers to access.

The minister said the app restores dignity by enabling citizens — including the elderly, young people, and persons with disabilities — to access services without lengthy queues or delays. She added that GIYH represents a meaningful step toward inclusive, citizen-centred service delivery.

Looking ahead, Maziya said she is encouraged by the app’s potential to bridge the digital divide and reshape interactions between government and the public. She noted that continued development and adoption of the platform would be key to unlocking its full impact on national service delivery.

The Government In Your Hand app forms part of Eswatini’s broader digital transformation agenda aimed at improving efficiency, accessibility, and accountability within public service systems.
